Weather helps crews contain Jordan Fire

SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) - The weather helped crews get a handle on a f ire burning in the Gila wilderness.

The Jordan Fire burned just over 400 acres near Copperas peak and highway 15.

A couple of inches of snow fell in the area Saturday and as of Sunday afternoon, crews had it 100percent contained.

Crews will be monitoring the burn area by horseback to keep an eye out for flare-ups.
