Ruidoso open as Little Bear Fire slows

RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) - More than 1,100 firefighters are still trying to keep hold of the Little Bear Fire near Ruidoso.

More than 39,500 acres have burned and 242 homes destroyed.

Tuesday, crews are burning fuel inside the containment line.

The fire is expected to be more active, with more visible smoke Tuesday afternoon

It's now 60 percent contained.

The town of Ruidoso is open for business.

Officials there say lodgers are getting hit hard with cancelations.
