(KRQE) - Monday morning updates on fires in Chimayo, the Sawmill fire, Weber and Stateline fires, and Little Bear and Whitewater Baldy Complex fires.
Chimayo: Rio Vista Run and West Arroy Alamo fires
In overnight news firefighters are still mopping up two wildfires in the bosque near Chimayo.
The Rio Vista Run fire started Sunday in the bosque near Chimayo. Firefighters worked through the night to keep it between two and five acres.
Crew have managed to stop the spread of the Rio Vista Run fire, however it is still actively burning on the interior. Crews will remain on stand by for direct fire suppression where possible and work on mop up and strengthening containment lines. Firefighters hoped to have everyone back home by midnight and it is unknown if the evacuation has been lifted at this time.
While crew were making progress with the Rio Vista run fire Sunday, it jumped the river and created the West Arroyo Alamo fire which has also burned approximately two to five acres.
West Arroyo Alamo Road is closed but no evacuations are in place at this time. If evacuations are warranted, homeowners will be notified by local authorities. The spread of the fire has been stopped and crews are in mop up and will continue to monitor and strengthen containment lines where necessary.
Sawmill fire, south of the Magdalena Ridge Observatory/Langmuir Lab
The Sawmill fire has burned at least 75 acres and firefighters have no containment at this time.
More than 120 firefighters have been working on the fire and and trying to protect the lab that's on top of the Magdalena Ridge.
Investigators have not said how the fire started.
Weber and Stateline fires
In Southern Colorado the Weber fire has burned more than 8,300 acres. Evacuations for some areas were ordered over the weekend.
People have lost AT&T service in the Mancos area.
Also in Colorado, two miles from the New Mexico state line, the Stateline fire has now burned about 350 acres.
Overnight, fire crews continued to patrol the area and set up structure protection. Flames have destroyed one home and an outbuilding.
Little Bear fire
Special teams are assessing the burn scars from the Little Bear fire burning near Ruidoso, NM. This weekend the teams were checking the soil for flood concerns.
The lightning sparked blaze has destroyed more than 44,000 acres and is now 75 percent contained.
Whitewater Baldy Complex fire
The largest wildfire ever in New Mexico the Whitewater-Baldy Complex fire in the Gila Wilderness has burned more than 297,000 acres and is now 87 percent contained.
