ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The fire broke out just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday and took firefighters about 45 minutes to put out buring an acre and a half.
A 14 year old male confessed to intentionally setting the fire and according to fire investigators, the teenager admitted that he intentionally jumped the fence and lit dry vegetation on fire with a lighter.
The Albuquerque Fire Department Arson Division will arrest the juvenile and charge him with felony arson charges later today.
A witness who called 911 says he heard fireworks just before the fire started.
