TAOS, N.M. (AP) - Crews are continuing to fight one small lightning-caused wildfire in the Taos area while another is being monitored and a third has been fully contained.
They say the Jarita Ranches fire in the El Rito Ranger District of Carson National Forest is now 100 percent contained after charring 27 aces 3 miles southwest of Vallecitos.
Meanwhile, the Hondo Canyon Complex fire in the same district is at 75 acres but 50 percent contained Sunday. That blaze is 3 miles northwest of Canon Plaza.
Crews say the Roybal Springs fire in the Tres Piedras Ranger District is 25 percent contained after burning 75 acres 9 miles west of Tres Piedras.
All of the fires are in steep, rocky and rugged terrain. Crews say none of the fires are threatening surrounding communities.
