ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A strong thunderstorm moving up the Rio Grande Valley is affecting Valencia County and moving toward Albuquerque.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Doppler radar put the storm near Tomé and Adelino and moving north at 15 mph. The storm was capable of producing 50 mph winds, 0.5-inch hail and locally heavy rain. Gusty winds already were brushing the southern part of Albuquerque, and thunder could be heard rumbling.

As the storm continues on its path the communities of Bosque Farms, Meadow Lake, Peralta and Tome were expected to feel its affects.
