SANTA FE (KRQE) - Jack Frost finally paid the state a visit and many parts of Northern New Mexico were blanketed with snow, a welcome site for residents.
By noon Monday Santa Fe was still logging a temperature of 14 degrees below freezing, the ice on Cerrillos Road was only slowly thawing.
While traffic moved slowly in Santa no major weather-related crashed were reported in the area.
And despite the chilly temperatures many people were outside, braving the cold and enjoying the snow.
Santa Fe resident Michelle Egizi told KRQE News 13 she actually walked to work to enjoy the long awaited winter scenery.
Santa Fe saw about four to six inches of snow in the city from the most recent storm. The largest snow fall was 14 inches in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains north of Santa Fe.
