SANTA CLARA PUEBLO, N.M. (KRQE) - Several families who live in the Santa Clara Canyon on the Santa Clara Pueblo are waking up in their own homes Thursday morning after flooding prompted voluntary evacuations.
Residents received voluntary evacuation orders Wednesday night after the rain caused some flash flooding near them.
That area is part of the Las Conchas burn scar.
Firefighters are still very concerned that flooding could do a lot of damage there.
Part of Jemez Road was closed Wednesday night, but it is back now open Thursday morning.
State Road 501 from camp may trail to NM State Road 4 in Los Alamos County is also back open Thursday morning.
Rain had it closed for a few hours Wednesday night.
