Fiery fatal accident being investigated

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two drivers, one of them a Bureau of Indian Affairs employee, died in a head-on crash in northwestern New Mexico Wednesday night.

The FBI and Navajo Nation police are now investigating the collision that happened on State Route 371 near Crownpoint around 10 p.m.

Police told KRQE News 13 the BIA employee was in his work truck and that the crash was so violent both vehicles erupted into flames.

Both drivers died at the scene. Their names have not been released.

Investigators aren't yet saying who was at fault or if alcohol was involved.
