ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A year old art project that cost taxpayers more than $100,000 is going to be repainted after it started to come apart.
The Montano Bridge got a makeover last summer for the first time in 14 years but just one year later, flakes were flying off the cement and littering nearby walkways.
Now, the local artist has agreed to repaint the peeling artwork.
This means westbound Montano will be down to one lane this Saturday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The eastbound lane will be shut down during the same times on Sunday.
