ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The plan to put a roundabout in the middle of Rio Grande Boulevard NW has been scrapped.
Albuquerque City Councilor Roxanne Meyers, who had secured some funds for the project at Rio Grande and Candelaria, said she will withdraw the plan.
She cited several reasons including the opposition of about 60 percent of the people who use that area. She also said other efforts have helped reduce accidents in that area.
Meyers had secured a fraction of the $1.5 million needed for the work and says those funds will now be used for other projects.
