Albuquerque (KRQE) - DeWayne Walker is officially leaving New Mexico State. Walker was offered a job as a secondary coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the week. It wasn't until Thursday that Walker accepted the job and informed the Aggies he would be leaving after four seasons. Walker thanked Athletic Director Dr. McKinley Boston for the opportunity to become a head coach at the school. It was part of a statement Walker released. Walker also said, "Unfortunately, I did not get the program as far as I would have liked from a wins and losses standpoint. But, we do have a better locker room, better kids and a better foundation for the program moving forward. " Walker compiled a 10 and 40 record during his four year stay. Last season the Aggies were 1 and 11.
