ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The ultimate Lobo fans may be traveling to Salt Lake City to watch the games.
But others are making the trip to their urologist.
“I use a no-scalpel technique,” says Dr. Frederick Snoy of the Urology Group of New Mexico.
His office – and others across the country – are offering a March Madness Two-for-One Vasectomy special - the procedure and a good excuse to watch wall-to-wall basketball.
Some guys are scheduling their appointments for this week – so their stay-at-home recovery time falls in line with the NCAA tourney.
“If they want a work excuse, we give them one,” Snoy said.
The clinic has been advertising the tournament tie-in – even offering no-interest financing.
So far, more than a dozen guys have scheduled appointments for this week.
“It’s a good excuse to get away from the honey-dos and the chores and weekend activities, and 'Hey honey, I'm going to kick back and watch the game' and this is my excuse,” he said.
Snoy says it’s a serious procedure and that guys should only sign up if they know they don’t want another “and one” in the family.
“Well, I've already had a vasectomy so, but, you know it's not a bad idea,” said one local. “You get a couple days off of work. That would be pretty nice.”
The procedure takes just five to ten minutes but often requires two to three days recovery time.
