Albuquerque (KRQE) - University of New Mexico senior safety Matt Raymer has been nominated for the 2012 Burlsworth Trophy. The award honors the nation's most outstanding football player who began his career as a walk on. Raymer, an Albuquerque native and Manzano High School graduate, is second on the Lobos in tackles with 59, and his 6.6 average per game ranks 20th in the Mountain West Conference. He has five tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and three forced fumbles on the season.
