Ronnie Daniels commits to Texas Tech

ALBUQUERUQE (KRQE) - Arguably the best running back in the state decided to commit to college early because he didn't want to be a distraction to his teammates.

La Cueva Bear Ronnie Daniels has given Texas Tech a verbal commitment. His mother is a Tech alum.

Daniels also considered the Lobos, but made the Red Raiders his first choice.

"It just seemed like a good fit for me. It's close to home, not too far away and I just get to play in a big conference," Daniels said.

Minnesota, East Carolina and New Mexico State also pursued the running back.
