ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Hope Christian came into the state high school basketball tournament as the girls No. 1 seed, but it's the sixth-seeded Lovington Wildcats heading home with the trophy.
In other action Friday:
On the boys' side Hope Christian will be its fifth consecutive appearance in the 3A title game after defeating Shiprock 67-49.
Their opponent in the 10 a.m. matchup on Saturday will be St. Michael's, which knocked off Sandia Prep in the other 3A semifinal 56-41.
