THE PIT (KRQE) - The highly anticipated rematch of last year’s semifinal between rivals Eldorado and La Cueva didn’t disappoint, and neither did the defending champions.
The Bears dispatched of the Golden Eagles 68-55.
La Cueva will head to its second straight title game. Last year, the Bears topped a Highland team led by current New Mexico Lobo Chad Adams.
The Bears played with the lead for the last three quarters and had an answer for everything the top-ranked Eagles could throw at them.
La Cueva’s Dylan Fritsch was big from the start when he nailed a 3-pointer to open the game. He finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The men in blue also got a huge performance from Isaiah Howard who netted 20 points.
La Cueva will face Mayfield Saturday night in The Pit. While the Bears are looking for their second straight title, the Trojans are looking for their first ever.
