ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Plenty of state championship hardware is on the line in the High School State Championship finals Saturday at The Pit.
It was 4 seed Clovis battling 6 seed Las Cruces, marking the first 5A title game without an Albuquerque school in the mix since 2008.
Cruces beat Clovis 61-49.
It's the Bulldogs first state title since 1976.
On the girl’s side in 5A, Clovis played Mayfield Trojans looking for their second state title in three years.
Clovis won the title thanks to a 62-48 victory over Mayfield.
It’s the Cats first blue trophy since 2007.
