ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The now-defunct New Mexico Scorpions hockey team has paid a debt of honor.
It has finally sent several thousand dollars to the Rob Guinn memorial fund. He was the 2006-07 season team captain who died in a car crash last year.
The Scorpions held fundraisers and raised the money for his young wife and daughter.
But none of it was actually sent to the memorial fund until this month.
The Central Hockey League recently announced the Scorpions will not be playing next season after its owners failed to find a buyer for the club.
