ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The New Mexico Scorpions won't be on the ice next season, the Central Hockey League announced late Thursday.
The league made the announcement by e-mail. The Oklahoma Blazers also will be sitting out the 2009-10 season.
News 13's calls to Scorpions owner Dave Ellett said the team was unable to secure the new ownership it had been hoping for. That led to the team ceasing operations.
Ellett issued a statement thanking the fans and corporate sponsors for their support.
