Mums the word with Manny Ramirez

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - If Manny Ramirez was quiet around the media before, he's real quiet now.

Prior to Albuquerque Isotopes batting practice Thursday afternoon, Ramirez declined to speak to the media, this on the heels of an ESPN report that Drug Enforcement Administration is investigating a Miami doctor and his son as the ones that prescribed Ramirez the performance enhancing drugs that led to his 50-game suspension from major league baseball.

Prior to batting practice, Ramirez took a few extra swings in the batting cage underneath the stands at Isotopes Park, and then walked down a hall toward the Isotopes clubhouse declining comment. The Isotopes clubhouse was then closed to the media.

When batting practice started, Ramirez re-emerged with smiles around his Isotopes teammates.

Ramirez is playing with the Isotopes to get ready for his return from suspension to the Los Angeles Dodgers July 3rd. In Thursday night's game with Nashville, Ramirez was expected to play seven innings.
