ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Monday is the deadline that the Central Hockey League gave New Mexico Scorpions Owner Dave Ellet in order to sell the team.
Ellet said the Scorps have lost about $1 million since they moved to the Santa Ana Star Center.
He's been trying to sell the team for months now.
The league needs to set the schedule for the upcoming season, but can’t do that until it's sure that the Scorpions will still be operating.
If the team doesn't find a buyer, the Scorps could stop playing next season while trying to find a new owner or the franchise could fold entirely.
