ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Boxing champion Holly Holm made quick work of challenger Jamie Clampitt Friday night.

During a first-round flurry, Clampitt fell to the canvas in agony and couldn't get back up. Officials diagnosed the injury as a 'stinger'. Holm was awarded a TKO because Clampitt couldn’t continue.

"I really wanted to be able to show what I've done," Holm said. "It just doesn't feel as good to win this way."

Holm wins her 28th fight and will retain the IBA World Junior Welterweight Belt.

This is the second time in the last three matches that Holm has earned an unconventional win. Two fights ago, big-talking Melissa Hernandez refused to fight because she couldn't see Holm's hands get wrapped.

A fighter from the audience stepped in and took Hernandez's place and lost to Holm.
