CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - City officials in Clovis say they have submitted a business proposal to be considered as a possible site if Ruidoso Downs decides to relocate.

Clovis Industrial Development Corporation executive director Chase Gentry confirmed Thursday that the proposal was submitted in April.

Mayor Gayla Brumfield says racetrack officials approached Clovis, along with several other New Mexico communities, to consider possible relocation.

Ruidoso Downs officials have publicly discussed the possibility of moving to Las Cruces.

Brumfield says the city's proposal was a standard response provided to businesses looking at Clovis as a possible operating site.
