NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Saints have hired Wesley McGriff as secondary coach. Coach Sean Payton announced the move Monday. McGriff comes to the Saints after serving as co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach at the University of Mississippi last season.

UNDATED (AP) — The last time Louisiana Tech was this good Karl Malone patrolled the courts on the Ruston campus. Second-year coach Michael White might not have a leading man like Malone, but the program is back among the nation's best thanks to an ensemble cast that hasn't lost in more than two months. Louisiana Tech moved into the Top 25 Monday for the first time since a 13-week run during the 1984-85 season.

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) — Davon Usher scored 31 points as Mississippi Valley State turned in its best offensive performance of the season, downing winless Grambling State 90-68 Monday night in Southwestern Athletic Conference action. Usher hit 12 of 19 from the floor and 4 of 8 from deep.

PINEVILLE, La. (AP) — Louisiana College women's basketball team makes a fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament with a first round matchup against Rhodes College on Friday. The game will be played at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
