Alabama's total was a record low for the tournament, one fewer than the 36 scored by Mississippi State in the Tide's 63-36 play-in victory Wednesday.
DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — Theresa Plaisance had 15 points and 14 rebounds and LSU held on late to beat Auburn 65-62 Thursday night in the Southeastern Conference tournament for its seventh straight win. LSU led by 15 points before Auburn's 10-0 run cut the lead to 61-56.
ATLANTA (AP) — Officials say financing terms have been reached for the Atlanta Falcons' $1 billion stadium proposal, keeping the team's home games in the city's downtown. The City Council must now vote on the proposal. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Falcons owner Arthur Blank announced the financing deal Thursday at a news conference along with the Georgia governor.
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — Drew Smyly extended his scoreless streak to nine innings, strengthening his bid for the final spot in Detroit's rotation, and the Tigers beat the Atlanta Braves 9-2 Thursday night. Smyly whiffed four in four innings, striking out the side in the second.
