He cannot play until next season but, Virginia Tech transfer Ricardo Young should give the Lobos even more depth under center next season. The former D.C. player of the year attended his first practice in cherry and silver Monday. Young appeared to be headed to a great career at Virginia Tech until a foot injury sidelined him. He later opted to transfer out of the program. The Lobos have a quarterback battle brewing for the 2011 season with last year's season opening starter B.R. Holbrook, who was knocked out of the season with a knee injury, and Tarean Austin.
