LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - The New Mexico State Aggie Football team continues to bring in big money by playing big time programs.

The Ags got $750,000 in 2007 for their contest with Auburn.

This year, NMSU will get $850,000 for playing the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In future years the program will get $750,000 for a game against Kansas and a school record $925,000 for a match up with Georgia.

"As a mid-major, you need to have some of those paydays." NMSU Athletic Director Dr. McKinley Boston said. "This business is about relationships, and hopefully we can continue to create value and also remain competitive."

The Ags are currently negotiating a home-and-home agreement with Minnesota for later seasons.
