ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The renovations to the storied University Arena aren't complete, but they're far enough along for the Pit to host basketball games again.

Tip off for the first Lobo Men's Basketball game of the season is Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., and from the looks of the stadium, it's definitely in the middle of its $60 million makeover.

What fans need to know about this season:

  • Parking and gates will open 90 minutes before the game
  • Parking will cost $5, unless you have four or more people in your car
  • To enter, you will have to walk around the gates to one of 10 temporary entrances
  • Students will enter from the West Side
  • Bathrooms and concessions will be located in tents outside the Pit
  • The Pit will hold just over 15,000 fans because the mezzanine section is being turned into luxury boxes

Officials are asking fans to just hang on through this season.

"We want them to feel part of this project and I think they will feel part of the project, when you walk in I think it will be neat for them to see where we are at today and I think we all will have a vision of what it might be like in 12 months," Associate Director of Athletics Tim Cass said.
