ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico Volleyball team had to endure some tough news Sunday.

Despite a 22-7 overall record and a third place finish in the tough Mountain West Conference, the Lobos were not invited to play in the NCAA Tournament.

The two teams that finished ahead of them in the Mountain West, Utah and Colorado State, made the 64 team field.

The team who handed the Lobos their final loss of the season, the New Mexico State Aggies, also made it into the tournament.

The Aggies finished the year with a record of 25-8. They will play St. Mary's (Cal) in the first round of the tournament.
