ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two Lobo football players were arrested early Sunday morning at a downtown Albuquerque bar after an altercation with bouncers, and now both are suspended from the team indefinitely.
Byron Bell, 20, and Quintell Solomon, 19, were both arrested and booked Sunday, and both bonded out.
Police said the two players were drunk and got into a physical confrontation with a couple of bouncers at The Library bar.
Bell is accused of punching one bouncer and Solomon is accused of pushing another bouncer from behind.
Officers had to use pepper spray to bring Bell under control, according to police.
Both are expected to make their first appearances in court on Sunday.
Lobo Head Football Coach Mike Locksley suspended both Bell and Soloman indefinitely from all football related activities.
Bell is charged with public affray, larceny and offenses by minors. Soloman is charged with disorderly conduct, public affray and offenses by minors.
All of the charges are misdemeanors.
Locksley said in a statement that once the program gets more information about the incident, the team will take appropriate disciplinary action.
Bell is an offensive lineman for the team, and Soloman is a wide receiver.
