ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico track and field team will send a record 11 athletes to the NCAA National Championships on Wednesday.

The team got together Monday afternoon before leaving for Arkansas on Tuesday.

Three New Mexican's have a good chance to medal:

  • Ruidoso's Katie Coronado in the javelin
  • La Cueva's Jarrin Soloman in the 400
  • Highland's Anthony Fairbanks in the javelin

However, Head Coach Joe Franklin said he's hoping his kids will score as a team.
