ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The Lobo men's basketball team made a lot of people howl with joy this season.
The team arrived at the Albuquerque Sunport shortly before midnight Saturday after losing to the Washington Huskies at the NCAA tournament in San Jose, California earlier Saturday afternoon.
And, the team's faithful fans didn't let them down despite their late night arrival.
It wasn't the largest crowd to welcomed the team home this season, but there was no shortage of pride over the UNM team's performance.
Even the smallest of fans fought off sleep to support the Lobos at the conclusion of a very successful season.
Many fans waiting at the airport said, although the loss to the Huskies on Saturday was a tough one, they are not the slightest bit disappointed in the team.
Lobo fan Paul Acosta says, "We support them and we love them. They can hold their heads up high and know they did great."
