SAN JOSE (KRQE) - Forget the NBA, junior New Mexico Lobo Darington Hobson may be destined for a career in journalism or comedy.

Hobson, who's recovering from a left wrist injury, spent Friday keeping his Lobos teammates in stitches by telling jokes and even playing reporter.

The junior guard hurt his wrist and lower back during a first half drive against the Montana Grizzlies on Thursday.

“To be honest with you, it hurts bad. It's throbbing,” Hobson said.

When he answered more questions about his injury Friday, Hobson went into comedian mode.

“[The trainers] were rubbing my butt a little bit to get the soreness out,” Hobson chuckled.

“No I didn't see him get [the massage], but I might need the same thing he got,” teammate Dairese Gary said as he smiled.

The Lobos were in high spirits after their first NCAA win of the millennium.

Hobson kept the laughter coming by becoming a locker room reporter.

The guard asked Chad Adams to give a shout out, what Nate Garth thinks about being so ugly and Gary for a song.

Head Coach Steve Alford, however, refused an interview request from Hobson.
