ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - New Mexico Lobo fans may have let out a gasp Tuesday night when ESPN officially kicked off the rumors surrounding the future of Head Coach Steve Alford.
ESPN College Basketball Analyst Doug Gottlieb mentioned Alford as a possible replacement for the coaching vacancy at the University of Oregon.
Gottlieb said it would be a hard job to turn down because the Ducks have a new arena opening next year and they have so much money to offer.
Nike founder Phil Knight bankrolls the Oregon athletic department.
Alford has repeatedly said he loves it at UNM and that he's not going anywhere.
