ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Bob Davie says he relied on his 35 years of experience to put together his first coaching staff at the University of New Mexico.

Coach Davie formally introduced the new guys Monday.

Davie says he picked coaches based on chemistry and their desire to be at New Mexico.

Former Sam Houston offensive coordinator Bob Debesse will run the lobo offense.

Ron West is the lobos new defensive coordinator. He remembers the lobos being good defensibly back in the day and would like to bring that back.

The former Illinois assistant took the Illini from 93rd to 6th in the country in defense.

Former lobo running backs coach Deandre Smith is back. As well as former player and line Coach Jason Lenmeier. Players remember them and give the coaching staff good marks.
