Lobos WBB win, improve to 3-0

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The Lobos Women's basketball team begins the season 3-0 for the first time since 2008-09 year. New Mexico trailed at halftime 30-26, however a key 13-1 run in the second half sparked a Lobos 63-46 win over Houston Baptist. Guard Caroline Durbin led the way for New Mexico in scoring with a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) performance while Roswell High School graduate Shanice Steenholdt led Houston Baptist with her own double-double (21 points, 16 rebounds) in the loss to the Lobos. Up next for UNM is a date with Rio Grande rivan NMSU Tuesday night at the Pit.
