Lobos survive at Wyoming

Albuquerque (KRQE) - Steve Alford's 20th ranked University of New Mexico Lobos are in the same spot they were when their Wednesday began, on top of the Mountain West Conference. The Lobos survived a late charge by the Wyoming Cowboys to win in Laramie 63 to 59. Junior forward Cameron Bairstow made only his 5th start of the season and responded with a career high 17 points. His fellow Australian teammate, guard Hugh Greenwood, scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. Junior guard Kendall Williams scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Alex Kirk was the only other Lobo in double figures. The sophomore center had 10 points and 6 rebounds. With the victory, the Lobos improved to 18 and 3 overall and 5 and 1 on top of the Mountain West Conference. The Lobos will host Nevada Saturday.
