LAS VEGAS, NV (KRQE) - A shot at playing in their first bowl game since 2007 is getting slimmer and slimmer by the week. This afternoon, the latest team to put a bump in the road for the Lobos bowling plans is UNLV. The Rebels jumped out to a 21-0 lead at halftime, marking the first time the Lobos were shut out at the half since week 5 against Boise St. The lone Lobos TD didn't come until the 8:18 mark in the 3rd quarter as Carlos Wiggins scored from 5 yards out. New Mexico's top RB Kasey Carrier averaged 206.5 yards coming into this game, and was shut down rushing for 52 yards on 19 carriers. The road to a bowl game gets windier with the loss as the Lobos must win their final 3 games in order to be bowl eligable.
