ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The Lobos hold off the 8th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats for a 55-54 win on ESPN2. New Mexico trailed at the half by 4 points, 26-22 until the Lobos outscore the Bearcats 33-28 in the final frame for the win. The Lobos were keyed by Kendall Williams who scored 16 points, hitting 4 three-pointers and the 7-footer Alex Kirk. Kirk finished 1 point shy of his career-high with 15 points, and 7 rebounds. Under 3 minutes to play, Tony Snell put the Lobos up 55-54. Cincinnati got the ball back with 14 seconds left, however the Lobos use their last 2 fouls to milk the clock. With 4.5 seconds left, Kirk blocks a shot however the ball is knocked to a Bearcat. Cincinnati's Cheikh Mbodi was there for the put back, however it was too late. The Loboshang on for the win, improving to 13-1 on the season and SHOULD most likey be voted back into the top 25 with the big win over 8th ranked Cincinnati.
