COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (KRQE) - The Lobos football team falls short of picking up their 5th win of the season, losing to Air Force 28-23 Saturday night. Despite RB Kasey Carrier's 338 yd(MWC Single-game record), 3 TD performance, the Lobos have an interception ran back for a touchdown as well as a missed field goal in the 2nd quarter that could have swayed the game in the Lobos favor. Trailing late in the fourth quarter 28-23, Lobos CB Tim Foley strips the football setting up the Lobos with great field position to escape with a win. However, the Lobos fail to convert a 4th down play inside the red-zone giving the ball back to the Falcons, that eventually leads to Air Force sealing a win with a first down. With the loss, the Lobos are 4-4 (1-2), while Air Force improves to 4-3 (3-1). Up next for the Lobos is a date with Fresno State in Albuquerque on October 27th.
