ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - Not the Christmas present the Lobos wanted from the AP & Coaches poll today, as both have dropped the Lobos from the top 25 Men's Basketball programs in the country. The Lobos suffered their first loss of regular season play at home to South Dakota State 70-65. The loss was enough to have the Lobos fall from their spot as the 16th ranked team in the country to 26th (66 votes in AP Poll). Up next for New Mexico is a date with 8th ranked Cincinnati, the Bearcats jumped from 11 to 8 as they remain a perfect 12-0.
