Albuquerque (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico Lobos have cracked the top 25 polls for the first time this season. The Lobos are 18th in the Associated Press poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll. The Lobos will take their national ranking on the road. They are at Colorado State Tuesday night. The Lobos currently have a two game lead on top of the Mountain West. They picked up that lead by knocking off a pair of nationally ranked teams in the conference. San Diego State fell last Wednesday. The Lobos beat UNLV this past Saturday. Lobos senior forward Drew Gordon averaged 22 points 18.5 rebounds for the week. He scored 27 points and pulled down 20 rebounds in the Lobos victory over UNLV. The performance earned him Mountain West Player Of The Week honors. Gordon is also the ESPN National Player Of The Week.
