Lobo women outlast NAU

Albuquerque (KRQE) - Yvonne Sanchez and her Lobo women's basketball team survived 9 lead changes to win their regular season opener Friday night against Northern Arizona. The 68 to 57 victory also marked the return of junior redshirt guard Sara Halasz. Halasz scored 13 points in her first game since 2010. A pair of ACL injuries kept Halasz on the shelf the previous two seasons. Three Lobos scored in double figures as guard Caroline Durbin joined forward Khadijah Shumpert in scoring 13 points each. The Lobos will host Texas Tech Thursday.
