Kielpinski named MWC Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (KRQE) - University of New Mexico forward Jessica Kielpinski has been named Mountain West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 27-Jan. 2. It is the first league weekly honor for Kielpinski of her career.

Kielpinski, a 6-1 senior from Mandan, N.D., led the Lobos to a 65-60 win over I-25 rival New Mexico State to stop a four-game losing streak and wrap up the non-conference season for UNM.

Kielpinski scored a career-high 21 points and shot .700 (7-10) from the field, including .500 (3-6) from long range. She also led the Lobos with seven rebounds and had season-highs in steals (5) and assists (4).

It was New Mexico’s only game of the week.
