ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Isotopes are back. The season opener is Thursday and the team is hoping this year will be bigger than ever.

”We have a day in May where people can bring their dogs to the park,” General Manager John Traub said. “We've got 11 fireworks shows this season.”

An average of 8,500 people fill these seats every game, and that means the 9-year-old franchise is closing in on a milestone. Sometime this summer the five-millionth Topes fan will come through the turnstiles and get a big surprise -- a trip for two to Los Angeles to see the Dodgers play.

But, if you don't win the trip to Hollywood, don't worry, Hollywood may be coming to you.

“We’re working with the cast of Breaking Bad to put together a charity softball game before one of our games in May, where (the casts of)  "Breaking Bad" and "In Plain Sight" will play each other, along with some local celebrities,” Traub said.

The season opener is Thursday April 7 against Omaha. Find tickets to the game here.
