SUN CITY, Ariz. (AP) — Michele Redman won The Legends Tour's season-opening Walgreens Charity Classic on Sunday, beating Canada's Lorie Kane by two strokes in cold and windy conditions.
Redman, a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour who played on four U.S. Solheim Cup teams, shot a 4-under 68 to finish at 5 under in the 36-hole event at Grandview Golf Course. She earned $30,000.
"The conditions were really tough," Redman said. "I've always liked playing in the wind. When you're striking the ball well, that's when you want to play when it's windy."
Kane closed with a 71.
