SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse's inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference will include home football games against Clemson, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and Boston College.
The schedule facing new coach Scott Shafer released Monday also includes visits to North Carolina State (Oct. 12), Georgia Tech (Oct. 19), Maryland (Nov. 9) and Florida State (Nov. 16).
The Orange kick off the season against Penn State in New York's College Classic on Aug. 31 at MetLife Stadium. That's followed by nonconference games at Northwestern (Sept. 7) and at home against Wagner (Sept. 14) and Tulane (Sept. 21).
The remainder of the home schedule features Clemson (Oct. 5), Wake Forest (Nov. 2), Pitt (Nov. 23) and Boston College (Nov. 30).
Syracuse leaves the Big East for the ACC on July 1.
