Albuquerque (KRQE) - Drew Gordon's NBA hopes will start with the Dallas Mavericks. The Former University of New Mexico Forward accepted an offer to attend summer camp in Las Vegas, Nevada with the Mavs in July. Gordon was projected to go in the second round in many mock drafts but, was snubbed as 60 names other than his were called. Going into his senior season at New Mexico Gordon was picked as the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year. He quickly established himself as a force with 8 double doubles through 14 games into the season. Gordon led New Mexico to a regular season Mountain West title, conference tournament title and first round victory in the NCAA Tournament. The draft snub is the latest disappointment for Gordon who was also passed over at the end of the season for Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.
