Albuquerque (KRQE) - Depth is what took New Mexico within three points of making it's first ever sweet 16 berth. It is also what has cost the Lobos a player. Lobos freshman guard Dominique Dunning has asked for and received his release from the school. Dunning told head coach Steve Alford the move was prompted by his lack of playing time and desire to be closer to home. Dunning saw very limited playing time during the season. He had his most points as a Lobo in a victory over Montana State. Dunning scored six points. No word yet on where Dunning plans to transfer.
